VP of System Sales / Industrial
Responsibilities:
Due to internal promotion our client, a $20b+ Fortune 100 company offering global leading technical solutions to diverse business sectors now needs a dynamic sales professional to take over as VP of System Sales Division. The successful individual will take charge of executing a new strategy to drive growth in annual sales through existing and new business. The position will be based in Tokyo and will report directly to the President. Potentially managing a 500+ strong team located in multiple regional offices, this manager will be responsible for implementing and executing effective sales strategies to both maintain current projects and clients with initiatives such as cross-selling of solution packages, while also growing the business by extended & enhanced product offerings and programs.

The successful candidate will have significant experience working closely with a regional based sales team throughout Japan, will likely have been P&L responsible for a company/division previously, and will not be afraid to travel as required to drive in a strategic change program aimed at effecting a step change in results. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding and track record of executing effective integrated sales strategies in a medium/large and complex organization. They will be responsible to assess the current organization and where necessary readjust caliber and design to guarantee a team that can execute the strategy successfully.

Requirements:
  • The individual shall be a Japanese national or possibly a foreigner with the last 10years' experience in Japan and a total fluency in written and spoken Japanese
  • The candidate must have significant senior level sales experience
  • Will have overseas business experience and / or higher education attendance
  • University Graduate or equivalent
  • The candidate should be able to manage a variety of disciplines and a number of direct reports, some who are located remotely from head office
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in requesting, assessing and applying financial reports/analysis
  • The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach and will get things done
  • Culturally aware and flexible
  • Excellent people motivator; good communication skills
  • Excellent and fluent command of English, written & spoken
  • Computer Literate
