| Our client, a top-tier company in the entertainment media space, is seeking a Vice President of Marketing and Communications to capture and project the essence of their brands through all mediums. |
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a consistent high profile communications strategy across all lines of business, whilst maintaining an aggressive and opportunistic tactical stance
- Provide leadership and integrate marketing plan implementation for the brands. Provide consultative guideline in order to achieve consistent high standards across all brands
- Deliver international standard work leveraging the brands and existing in house creative resource wherever possible
- Develop and deliver innovative partnership marketing solutions for advertising clients
- Aggressively target both consumer and business media and ensure a high share of voice for all properties in Japan
- Working closely with the President, develop the organization as a highly desirable business partner and employer
- Ensure that external and internal communications successfully position the company as offering innovative, distinctive and successful market leading brands
- Ensure all character and brand communication are consistent with core values and messages
- Develop and be prepared to execute a contingency strategy for any potential negative reporting around the business, channels or brands
- Help develop and communicate effective pro-social strategy in line with International objectives balanced with local needs

Requirements:
- Fluency in Japanese and English
- Ability to write persuasively and fluently in both languages
- A good understanding of the role of TV in the marketing mix and at least a basic grasp of media planning principles in order to help tailor effective packages demonstrating measurable value to clients
- Possess a thorough understanding of the Japanese domestic and International media market place and have relationships with key figures within both consumer and business media
- Possess excellent presentation skills
- Have strong commercial awareness and a keen sense of how to present a story in simple terms easily recognized by business and consumer constituents

Candidate Personal Profile:
- A charismatic and effective brand ambassador
- A creative and convincing communicator who is able to counsel, develop and where necessary coach subordinates across a variety of communications issues
- Will almost certainly have exposure to and direct experience of International markets, companies and practices
- Will likely have 5-10 years experience at senior level within the Marketing and Communications or PR business, ideally with an entertainment company background
- Highly self motivated and dynamic, able to work well and think clearly under pressure
- A quick and clear thinker able to very quickly grasp complex issues and identify any associated risks or opportunities
